We hired Christine, owner of Palindrome Design, to completely redesign our house that we had purchased a few years prior. This was our first time working with a designer but we had our own sense of style that Christine worked with and enhanced with her unique and cohesive vision for our home. We have worked with other designers in the past and I have to say that our experience with Christine has been the most positive (and fun!) one we have had. From the beginning she took the time to genuinely understand our style and goals we had for our basement renovation and redesign. She took her time listening to us and really understood how we wanted to live and use our space — from entertaining to everyday living with our children. She is exacting with her measurements, takes time to double check to make sure all her orders are correct, and communicates with you ever step of the way. Throughout the project she ensured that we stayed within our budget and was always thinking of ways we could maximize the pieces we already had to work with. We brought Christine aboard to help us design and decorate a new home that we were building. At our initial meeting, she was extremely prepared and organized. She listened closely to what our needs would be and what our taste was aesthetically. She met with us and the builder on the job site throughout our project and given her attention to detail, she made some changes to the building that significantly improved our home. (ie. she caught windows that needed to be enlarged, she added lighting, she helped design the entry wainscoting, etc) She was very good at listening to what we wanted but also gave us ideas and encouragement to think outside of our comfort zone. She is warm, responsive and budget conscious. If she didn't know the answer to anything she would consult with another professional to ensure we were making the right decision. This built a great amount of trust between us all. This process can be very stressful for many but we never felt this way given her talent and skills. Christine Philip has been an extraordinary asset to our recent home renovation. She's warm and funny and wonderful to work with. She's also organized, efficient, and good communicator. Most importantly, she has terrific ideas, and our home looks fabulous. Part of our project was a basement renovation, and while we wanted it to look spectacular, we really wanted to stick to a budget, and I never felt pressured to spend a fortune. She had wonderful and surprisingly affordable design ideas for us. And elsewhere, in places where we wanted to be a bit more meticulous and high-end, she knew what to suggest, and what to keep in mind so we didn't waste that money.
